Airport description
Athens Eleftherios Venizelos International Airport is the largest airport in Greece serving Athens. It started functioning on March 28, 2001 and replaced the Elinikon Airport. Located 25 kilometers east of the old airport, and 17 kilometers from the center of Athens, in the area of the city of Spaty in the community (Dime) Spata-Artemi in Eastern Attica in the periphery of Attica.
